Avoid the HR Screen
When candidates send their own resumes
to a company, a professional Human Resources "screener" culls out
most of the resumes. These "screeners" often look for key words
because they may not be well versed in a particular field. So they
look for candidates who "appear" to have the required credentials.
The "screener" can eliminate your resume only because s/he does
not know your particular industry or understand your qualifications.
The Human Resources "screener"
then forwards all the accepted resumes to the hiring manager, who
once again screens out most of the resumes. The ones that remain
usually go back to HR to be scheduled for an interview with HR first,
then later with the hiring manager - if you pass the first round
of interviewing. Feedback is slow - sometimes even non-existent.
In contrast, Halderson
Associates' direct relationship with the hiring manager gives your
resume the attention it deserves. We maintain constant contact with
you and the client company's hiring manager. We present your qualifications
directly to the hiring manager; we also arrange your interview and
then follow up with the hiring manager. You receive feedback quickly
from your Halderson Associates in-house consultant.
